Week Beginning Monday 4th May

The resources needed for this week can be found by clicking the link below.

In addition to the above, here are a few suggestions for some other things you might like to do this week.

Banner Competition

VE Day – Friday 8th May

RSE are looking for students to design a banner which thanks and shows support to the NHS and key workers, for their dedication and hard work during this pandemic.

We'll pick 5 winners, who will have their artwork recreated by our talented designers and printed on to a big 3x1m banner for us to proudly attach to our gates!

Use the template (in the Google Drive folder below) to complete your design.

To enter, you simply need to take a photograph of your completed worksheet and email it to hello@fsedesign.co.uk alongside your name, age and details of your school.
Please also email your entry to Mr Campbell so that we can show off all your designs on the school blog.

The closing date is Friday 8th May at 5pm! Winners will be announced on Monday 11th May!

VE Day - or 'Victory in Europe Day' - marks the day towards the end of World War Two (WW2) when fighting against Nazi Germany in Europe came to an end.

We would like you to do some research into what happened on VE Day and how World War Two came to an end and present your findings.

Follow some of the links to find out more:

It’s up to you how you present what you find out:

Maybe a poster? A Power Point presentation?

A fact sheet or leaflet? A diary entry in role as someone who lived through this momentous day?

Please share your work with your teachers – we would love to see what you have found out and how you decide to share it with us!

Art from Mrs Milne

Science from Mrs Arnold

Your first challenge for the month of May actually comes from Mrs Glasspool and involves decorating your front window to make your neighbours and passers-by smile.  We would love for this to become a whole-school art challenge that everyone has a go at embracing.  See Monday’s Art@Home blog post for more.

DIY Lava Lamp make your own lava lamp. Watch the bubbles rise and fall like magic.

See the blog next week for the instructions.

Please send Miss Pearmain and Mrs Arnold pictures of your work and any home learning which you do – we will upload a class blog every Tuesday so it would be lovely to include some photographs of your home learning to share with our school community!

If you have any questions, please email us using your bwjsapps account.

Take care and stay safe,

Miss Pearmain and Mrs Arnold x
