In addition to the above, here are a few suggestions for some other things you might like to do this week.

24th June is National Writing Day

25th June is Eric Carle’s birthday

There is a dedicated website for National Writing Day which can be found here:

https://firststory.org.uk/writeday/

There are some great tutorials on creative writing on the website – why not watch one or more of the tutorials and get inspired to do some writing of your own!

If you’re stuck for ideas of how to get started, this page has 7 different story starters that might help:

Please share anything you write with your teacher!

Eric Carle is the author and illustrator of more than 70 books for very young children including his most well-known title The Very Hungry Caterpillar!

You can visit his website here: https://eric-carle.com/

To celebrate his birthday, can you make your very own Very Hungry Caterpillar using things you find around the house? Perhaps you could use pasta, pegs, play dough, empty cardboard packaging or beads? Or you could choose to paint using printing or some of the techniques Mrs Milne has been demonstrating on the Art@home blog recently.

Please send us photos of your caterpillars!

Art from Mrs Milne

Science from Mrs Arnold

Mrs Milne’s Art@Home challenge for this week focusses on the great artist Matisse and his famous cut-outs.  Get the scissors ready to snip your way to a masterpiece!

Grow your own crystals!

Watch the blog for more instructions early this week.
