Ali Baba & The Bongo Bandits
14 July 2022 (by Darren Campbell (darrencampbell))
The songs are learned. The actions are choreographed. The lines are memorised. The backdrop is hung. The lights are programmed. The props are made. The costumes are assembled. The stage crew are ready.
Year Six are all set for our performances of Ali Baba and the Bongo Bandits next week. This afternoon, we had our first rehearsal costumed up under the watchful eye of Mrs Arnold – we have one more rehearsal on Friday morning, and then we perform for the first time on Monday morning to Year 3, Year 4 and Year 2 from the infant school. It’s amazing what a difference the costumes make – songs that have become a bit subdued suddenly have an extra burst of energy, and everything on stage fizzles with energy.
We are really looking forward to showing you what we’ve prepared next week. Tickets for each performance are still available via parentmail if you’d like to come and see us. It’s very hard to take photos during the performances themselves, but here are some photos to whet your appetite in the meantime…
