Parent Survey Results - March 2023

At our school, we value your feedback, and it plays a crucial role in shaping our continuous improvement efforts. Our recent parental surveys have provided valuable insights that help us celebrate our strengths and pinpoint areas where we can make enhancements.

The statements in these surveys align with those OFSTED asks of parents during inspections, giving us a holistic view of our school's performance.

We extend our sincere thanks to each and every one of you who took the time to contribute. Your input is invaluable in our collective journey toward excellence.

Suggestions for School Improvement

We want to express our heartfelt appreciation for your invaluable input and suggestions concerning school improvement. The BWJS governing body and senior leadership team have thoroughly reviewed and analysed all the feedback provided. We are delighted to share with you the key themes that emerged from our discussions:

  1. More Opportunities for Parental Involvement: We recognize the vital role you play in your child's education. To strengthen this connection, we will be actively working to create additional opportunities for you to visit the school, view your child's work, and participate in various events throughout the academic year.

  2. Reevaluating 'Doodle' for Homework: In response to your feedback, we will be reassessing the use of 'Doodle' as a homework tool across the school. We will evaluate its effectiveness and explore alternative approaches if necessary to ensure an engaging and efficient homework system.

  3. Enhancing Intra-School Sporting Competitions: We understand the significance of sports in fostering teamwork, physical well-being, and healthy competition. Therefore, we are committed to providing more opportunities for intra-school sporting competitions, allowing all pupils to participate and showcase their skills in a supportive and inclusive environment.

  4. Improving Mid-Year Reports: We acknowledge concerns raised regarding the language and progress reporting for pupils with SEN in mid-year reports. Our commitment is to enhance the clarity and inclusivity of these reports, ensuring they provide meaningful and comprehensive information about each pupil's progress, including those with special educational needs.

In the coming weeks, we will develop action plans to address these areas of improvement. Your contributions have played a pivotal role in shaping our approach, and we will keep you updated on our progress. Our dedication is unwavering in creating an environment where every child can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Once again, our sincere gratitude for your active involvement and dedication to the education of our pupils. Together, we can continue making positive changes that benefit our entire school community.
