Physical activity ideas to support wellbeing
Here are some physical activity boards for both KS1 and KS2. These have very kindly been sent to us by the South Eastleigh and Winchester School Sport Partnership team and can be adapted according to the needs of your family. The activities require very little or no equipment - and by 'equipment', everyday objects you will have in your house. |
Helpful tips in how to look after your mental health during lockdown
The Travel Planning Team at Hampshire County Council have been busy putting together some ideas for families to use at home during this period of lockdown and, in particular, how to put your daily exercise time to good use whilst focusing on your mental health. There are also more ideas for families to access at www.myjourneyhampshire.com/wellbeing and we will be adding to this page over the coming weeks so keep an eye out for more initiatives and ideas. Mind Up
The Brain Break from 'Mind Up' helps children focus attention and regulate emotions. Practised three times per day, this focused breathing practice gives children a tool to help them to regulate their stress and emotions through regulating their physiology, and activating the attentional regions of the brain. It can be practised by the whole family and can promote clearer thinking, better decision making, alleviate stress and anxiety and help to regulate an individual’s emotions. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the video link and listen to the instructions. Mindup have also produced a 'Mindful Moments' resource - a set of quick tasks that can be done to improve your wellbeing, or the wellbeing of those around you. |
