At Bishop’s Waltham Junior School the health, safety and well-being of every child is our top priority.
Welcome to Year 6
2026-27
Welcome to Year 6 at Bishop's Waltham Junior School.
Year 6 is a memorable and exciting year as children reach the final stage of their journey at BWJS. As the oldest pupils in the school, they are encouraged to become positive role models, demonstrate leadership and take greater responsibility within our school community. Throughout the year, we support children in developing the confidence, resilience and independence they will need as they prepare for the transition to secondary school.
Whilst Year 6 is an important academic year, it is also a year filled with opportunities, memorable experiences and lasting friendships. Children are encouraged to challenge themselves, take pride in their achievements and make the most of the many leadership, sporting, creative and enrichment opportunities available to them. We strive to ensure that every pupil leaves BWJS not only with strong academic foundations, but also with the skills, values and confidence needed for the next stage of their education.
The Year 6 teaching team consists of Mr Senior (Birch Class), Mrs Mars (Cedar Class) and Mrs Arnold (Hawthorn Class)
We are also fortunate to be supported by our dedicated Teaching Assistants, Mrs Slaughter, Mrs Hughes, Mrs White and Mrs Burrows - who work closely with pupils across the year group, providing encouragement and guidance to help every child achieve their full potential.
We look forward to working in partnership with you and your child throughout this important final year at BWJS and to celebrating their achievements, successes and special memories as they prepare for the exciting journey ahead.
