March 5th
Ridgemede Pool Birthday Celebrations. Tony the Tiger will be here amongst many other guests. Everyone will be welcome to join in the fun followed by a Swimming Gala at 3:00pm.

April 1st
Congratulations and best wishes to Miss Brierly who is getting married on Saturday. After the Easter holidays she will be known as Mrs Hope.
Don’t forget to put Saturday 22nd May on your calenders as The Circus is coming to Ridgemede School. There hasn’t been a circus in Bishop’s Waltham for over 50 years (so some of the older residents tell us!) so now’s your chance to take part in the fun.

July 2nd

There are some new members of staff joining us in September.  Mr Senior has already been introduced to the parents of next year’s Year 3 children and is very much looking forward to joining our team.  His particular interests lie with mathematics and music.

Miss Beaney joins us from Hulbert Junior School in Waterlooville.  She has led a number of subject areas and taught across the Junior age range and will lead improvements in our problem solving team.

Miss Rogers is currently leading mathematics at St Mark’s Junior School, Basingstoke and will share the same role at Ridgemede.  Both will also join our whole school improvement team, responsible for key improvement initiatives.

Miss Martin joins Mrs Marsh and me in the school’s School Management Team and will also share the lead in mathematics.  She is joining us from Whitely Primary School.  We are very pleased to welcome such strength and experience into our Ridgemede team and they are very much looking forward to being part of the exciting challenge ahead.

There are several teachers who are moving on from Ridgemede at the end of term.

Mrs Lowth has been promoted to a management position at a secondary school in Southampton where she will be supporting the improvement of liaison between primary and the secondary school, especially in literacy.  We are very grateful for the dedication that she has bought to many roles at Ridgemede and will miss her supportive teamwork across the school.

Mrs Oliver Freeman has been ‘headhunted’ to join Sparsholt Further Education College.  Her contribution at Ridgemede has been influential in the past 4 terms, particularly to our growing expertise in understanding children’s thinking skills.

Miss Carter is getting married this summer and moving to Scotland.  Miss Carter began her professional teaching career with us last year and has shown the highest professional standards, well beyond her years of experience.

We will miss them all, in different ways, and I’m sure that you would join with me in wishing them the best of luck and success in their new ventures.
