Art Across the Curriculum

At Bishop's Waltham Junior School, we believe in integrating subjects across the curriculum.  Here are some examples.

Science through Art

Year 3 children created these wonderful collaged dinner plates to show off their knowledge of a balanced diet, during their Science topic ‘Teeth and Healthy Eating’.

Year 5 children drew detailed observations of a variety of fruit and vegetables to support their learning about Harvest.

RE through Art

Year 4 children communicated their ideas about good and evil through collages made from words and images from newspapers.

History through Art

Year 3 children made ancient Egyptian scrolls of hieroglyphics, using tea-stained paper for added authenticity.

Geography through Art

Year Five children used clay and sand to create their own rivers.
